From the Founder's Desk

Unemployment among young people is one of the snags that India faces. It may not be automatically pegged to lack of opportunities, but largely a contribution of lack of appropriate skills.

Since we as a team believe in making an individual independent and able to stand on their own over the longer run, this 'skill a generation' concept would not just raise the standard of living of an individual, but would also provide that individual a platform to grow.

Central to our approach is a grassroots focus on the 3Es towards 2047 — Education, Environment and Employment. These serve as the pillars of our mission, addressing critical facets of youth development.

Background & Need

Why skill development, and why now

A young workforce

More than 54% of India's population is below 25 years of age, and the country's demographic dividend runs until 2040.

A skilling gap

India's formally skilled workforce is approximately 2% — against China at 47%, Japan at 80% and South Korea at 96%.

Employability, not just jobs

On the supply side too few jobs are created; on the demand side, candidates entering the market lack the required skill sets.

Rising exports

Electronics, engineering goods and chemicals now make up 31% of total merchandise exports, driven substantially by MSMEs.

Strong rural demand

Agricultural growth hit a five-quarter high of 3.5%, with rural consumption expected to stay strong.

Policy tailwind

The Union Budget raised funding for education, employment and skill development to ₹1.48 lakh crore.
